Summary

The Main Street project is one of six innovative transportation projects being implemented through TransLink’s  “Urban Showcase”, in partnership with Transport Canada and Metro Vancouver municipalities. The six projects will showcase different approaches to improving air quality and reducing greenhouse gas emissions through creative transportation strategies. The Main Street project creates a more people- and transit-friendly environment.  Changes include improved pedestrian street crossings, amenities for cyclists, new bus shelters with easy to read route maps and real-time transit information, improved transit travel time and reliability, preserved on-street parking, plus public art, benches and landscape improvements.
